The George & Fay Young Foundation is a private, not for profit corporation. The policy of the Foundation is to issue grants only to organizations which are (i) exempt from federal income taxation under Section 501(a) of the Internal Revenue Code of 1986, as amended (the “Code”); (ii) described in Code Section 501(c)(3); and (iii) not classified as a private foundation described in Code Section 509(a). Grants are not made to individuals. The Foundation traditionally focuses its funding on organizations operating within the Dallas/ Ft. Worth Metroplex. The Foundation, will however, give consideration to organizations located in other parts of Texas as well as throughout the United States that represent the listed areas of focus.

The application process is by invitation only. The Foundation does not accept unsolicited grant applications.

Areas of Focus

Education

The Foundation seeks to support unique programs and experiences that have proven impact. The primary focus of our educational efforts is directed towards early childhood, primary, and secondary education.

Individual, Family, & Community Support

The Foundation seeks to support programs working to promote positive change while fostering self-reliance for individuals and families.

Animal Awareness

The Foundation focuses on programs in which animal welfare is the core component, as well as programs that promote the importance of the relationship between humans and animals.

Health

The Foundation supports health issues, with specific interest in Diabetes and Vision Loss. The Foundation also looks to support environmental efforts that promote healthy living environments for all.
